They died during the Second World War. The only information I had was that in Poznań, where they had lived since 1903. With the great help of some wonderful people from Poznań, I established that my great-grandparents Franciszek Majewski and his wife Marianna née Lorenczewska rested in the Parish Cemetery of the Church of the Resurrection.

The cemetery is located on Samotna Street, in the Dębiec district of Poznań.

I am sad to say that the cemetery has been deprived of its guardian for almost 50 years. It was devastated, not so much by the war as by the lack of care. It wasn’t until a few years ago that he returned to the Church. Nevertheless, I am very happy that I now know where my Ancestors are. My great-grandfather Franciszek was born in 1856, my great-grandmother in 1854, both of them in Nakło nad Notecią, in Kujawy. They lived to a dignified age because he was 86, she was 85. I didn’t know them.
